Its broken still driveable but the stock clutch is toast...Iam almost embarrased to say how much miles are on the car before it started to slip but after reading up on evolutionm.net, there are many factors that can cause the stock clucth to go so quickly..

My situation was simple.... the previous owner bought the evo new and I bought it from him with 3000 miles, I noticed a little jump in rpm's when I accelrated hard but after cleaning the evo I found MOROSSO drag cards under the seat Tracking the car at the Drag Strip without the clutch being fully broken = not a good idea...

Oh well, a new clutch should be here In a week......

Ya been researching the clutch for about two/three weeks, The evolution drivetrain is so dam sensitive!!!! If I get a two GRabby clutch i.e. 4 puck/6puck than the transfer case/transmission will fail...To soft and it will only last for about 10 launches

I went with a RPS MAX Turbo Clutch and ACT Streetlite flywheel.. RPS is suppose to have a pattented designed pressure plate that uses an upgraded stock exedy clutch disc... good for 400-500whp I believe iam at 310whp now with an upgraded fuel pump, megan tbe, and tune.

ok i have a sort of update -- side note i have been boosted for 2 yrs already damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn..

i am wiring dual ecus as we speak.. Ive wired it up enough to flash and read my evo 8 ecu.. Thats a plus so ill continue to wire in injectors and ignition and so on.. Ill probably be done around this weekend if all goes well.. I will also be changing manifolds and such.. Im going with a larger stockish manifold with external wastegate and dump.. Im getting too much boost creep and i dont want to damage my engine prematurely. Ill be running probably 12 lbs dialed in.. Im waiting for a knock sensor on friday that will go with my evo ecu so i can control knock and can log it.. If all goes well i can up the boost and advance some timing.. I figure im at 200 to 220 at the wheels right now but my timing and fuel is conservative so there is room for more power.. Plus getting rid of the emanage will stop some of the tuning woes.. Essentially using the evo 8 ecu will be like installing a standalone so i should be able to run more boost and safely increase hp.. Im figuring with the right tuning and the ecu working as i think it will, i can make 300hp to the crank maybe 260 whp no problem.. Assuming my tranny will hold.. Thats my update as of now.. hope someone can use this info .....
